Victory in the Rain (and Snow) at Mosport!

Daniel Earle in the Team Earle #39 Camp Ooch Radical SR3 took home a memorable win in the treacherous conditions that marred the Formula Libre category race of the BEMC Spring Trophy Races at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park this Sunday.

With sleet/snow falling on a freezing track, Earle slipped away from the field after the flag dropped, passing a V8-powered Radical SR8 around the outside of Turn 1. From there, he held on for a jaw-clenching run to victory, setting the fastest lap by over 15 seconds!

"The conditions were obviously scary with low visibility and no grip. I wasn't sure the stewards would let us race, but they did and once you're going you have to keep your pace up so the aero can keep you on the road. You can't really slow down.

The worst part was that the sleet/snow moved around the track from Turn 4/5, up the hill to Turn 8/9/10 and then onto Turn 1/2 so from one lap to the next the grip changed wildly. The victory was nice, but I’m happier that we all made it home in one piece."
